I have no idea what these flowers are, but they are growing like crazy, and fill in the void in the front garden, so I'm leaving them. Last year I assumed they were weeds and tore them all out and ended up with a boring dirt patch in its place. I'm really hoping they're flowers....
A few years ago I spread wildflower mix in the side garden and I was so happy when stuff sprouted. I would go out everyday and water them and I kept waiting and waiting for the stuff to flower.
One day I was watering the plants and my neighbor walked over and said, "You know, I have stuff you can spray on that if you want."
I said, "What?"
He said, "Um, those are all pigweed."
Oops. I'm blaming that on growing up in the mountains and never really having anything grow. We didn't have grass/lawns or anything.
This stuff is all new to me.
Yay! Mini red hollyhock blooming already. Years ago when I still lived in Colorado, my Grandma sent me an envelope of hollyhock seeds. I kept them in my dresser for years, knowing they wouldn't grow out there. I planted them when I moved here, and they have been growing like crazy every since :)
All those white flower/weed things in front of the house are hiding all the stuff that I *know* are wildflowers below them. I love these....unfortunately, there aren't enough of these to fill in the void if I were to rip out the white flower/weeds again.
