The guest room as of tonight. I was able to make the Eastlake headboard I rescued at auction work, by adjusting the frame for a single size mattress [it was originally meant for the full size...but this room just isn't big enough]
This room has come a long way from how it looked back in January.

I love how they built the birdhouses into the gable here.
I went to an auction today west of here, and picked up 5 orphan chairs. Three of them have a gorgeous motif carved in the back that I instantly recognized from ...somewhere...I just don't remember where. I have tried various searches for "lily" and "lotus" and have found nothing. Does anyone recognize the design?
The three chairs...that need work/love/glue....maybe not in that order...

I also came across this in the garage today. A year ago I was at an auction with a warehouse full of rough wood furniture and stuff...and there was a church altar railing...that didn't get a single bid, so it was hauled to the trash pile. I loved the design in it, so my friend grabbed a board off of it, to use as a pattern, if I ever decide to redo my porch railing. Isn't it beautiful?
